Life is what we make it. The biggest part of living requires action. We must do something. For me, happiness is a journey, not a destination. I believe that our best part of life is on the road to a goal. Our achievements are manifestations of our thoughts, actions and belongings. Our thoughts are very powerful. What a person believes is often what he/she achieves. It was Henry Ford who said:
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right.”
It’s our responsibility to direct our thoughts on what we want to achieve in life and not dwell on our failures. Failing is a part of life. From those failures we learn our strength; we learn our abilities; and we learn what we can handle. Mistakes happen to all of us. It’s what we do with those mistakes that shapes who we are as a person. We can choose to linger in defeat or advance with a wiser mindset and carry on. Dale Carnegie said it best:
“The successful man will profit from his mistakes and try again a different way.”
In closing, I have chosen to be happy and enjoy the journey. Sure, it gets hard sometimes. I have lonely moments (okay, lonely days is more accurate), sad happenings and occasionally question things. But, those moments occur for a reason. I accept them and know that as long as I continue to carry on, things will work out…”for the good of them that love the Lord.”
“How do you view happiness – as a journey or a destination?”
